This policy explains what personal data BytesCop Academy (academy.bytescop.com) and the BytesCop website (bytescop.com) collect and why. The data fiduciary is Palavi Technologies India Pvt Ltd. Contact for anything in this policy, including requests about your data: our Grievance Officer at support@bytescop.com.
1. What we collect
On the website (bytescop.com): nothing personal. It has no forms, no accounts and no tracking or advertising cookies.
In the Academy, when you create an account or buy a course:
- your email address (to sign you in and contact you), and your name if you give it;
- the courses you have bought;
- your progress in each course (so you can continue where you stopped);
- a record of each payment: payment ID, course and date. We do not receive or store card, UPI or bank details; Razorpay processes payments;
- the time of your latest sign-in, used to keep you signed in on one device at a time.
We do not keep logs of your IP address for website visits.
2. Why we use it
To create and secure your account, give you access to the courses you bought, save your progress, process and record payments, send you service emails (sign-in codes, purchase confirmations, important changes), and answer your questions.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.
Marketing emails (news, new courses, promotions) are sent only if you separately opt in, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
3. Who processes it for us
- Amazon Web Services hosts the Academy and stores your data in its Mumbai (India) region; it also sends our emails.
- Razorpay processes payments and holds payment details and invoices.
Your personal data is stored in India. Course videos are delivered through a global content network so that they play smoothly wherever you are; this does not move your account data out of India.
4. How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, purchases list and progress. We keep a minimal payment record without your personal details where needed to keep payment processing consistent, Payment, invoice and accounting records are kept for as long as Indian tax and company law requires (currently up to eight years).
5. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, update or delete your personal data, and to nominate someone to act for you. Write to support@bytescop.com. We will reply within 90 days at the latest, and usually much sooner.
Deleting your account ends your access to the courses you bought.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to what each part of the system needs, and administrator access uses multi-factor authentication. If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires, without undue delay.
7. Age
The Academy is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children.
8. Cookies and browser storage
The Academy uses only what it needs to work: a sign-in session kept in your browser, and short-lived cookies that let your browser play the videos you bought. No tracking or advertising cookies.
9. Changes
We will post changes here with a new date, and email account holders about material changes.
